Scott & Margaret were set up through a blind date, thanks to the connection from a family friend. They first met in Old Town, at Union Street Pub after work. While now it’s clear this was a setup at their first meeting, Margaret had thought she was just welcoming a new guy into town and hopefully making a new friend out of it. It wasn’t until their second meeting that she finally realized it was a set-up and a real date! For Scott, it was pretty clear at this point they were on date #2. Who knows which date really counted as the first, but it only took a few for both Margaret and Scott to feel there was something special between them, a true friendship and companionship forming to strengthen their relationship that continues to grow everyday.

Fast forward and many memories later, Scott knew there was no better way to ask for Margaret to marry him than by journeying through Old Town and recounting fun memories through a scavenger hunt. Beginning at Mae’s Cafe, where the two had spent many coffee dates and lunch breaks, they walked past their offices which happen to be across the street from each other, down to the river front where they had spent time during their early dates talking on the park benches, and finishing up at the historic Carlyle house where they had indulged in the nearby Gelato many times the summer before. It was a private spot where Scott read Margaret a letter and proposed to her – privately, just the way she had always wanted.
